John focuses on economic risk with a regional focus on sub-Saharan Africa. He joined the firm in 2009 and spent two years as a researcher in the Analysis team, before joining the Advisory Practice in 2011.
Recent projects have included advising a national government on its public debt dynamics, and monitoring political risks for an international organisation.
Prior to joining Oxford Analytica, John worked on economic development issues with the UK parliament, DFID and Oxford University. He was an EU election observer during the 2006 presidential elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He holds an MSc in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), a Graduate Diploma in Economics from SOAS, and a BA in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Leeds.
