Sarah Michaels

Sarah Michaels joined Oxford Analytica in May 2008. She helps manage the Analysis team's Daily Brief and Global Risk Monitor, and provides incisive, forward-looking assessments of Russia and the CIS to private-sector clients in the energy, financial, consumer and manufacturing sectors, as well as over 40 governments and international institutions.

Before joining Oxford Analytica, Sarah was a political and military specialist on the Caucasus, Ukraine, Russia and the Black Sea for the US Department of State and US Department of Defense; she concurrently served as a Navy Reserve intelligence officer. Her analysis has been featured by The New York Times, the United Nations, the London School of Economics and Intelligence Squared. Sarah specialises in facilitating engaging, forward-looking discussions on global political risk. She was educated at the George Washington University, the University of Chicago and King’s College London, where she is writing her PhD on civil-military relations in Ukraine.
